About John MacGougan
A lifelong reader who decided to write the kind of crime fiction he loved.
John MacGougan is a Canadian crime and mystery author and creator of the Charlie Beach Mysteries. His interest in mystery fiction started early with the Hardy Boys and later expanded to writers including Agatha Christie, P.D. James and Robert B. Parker.
After discovering Elmore Leonard's work, MacGougan was inspired to turn a long-standing interest in storytelling into his own murder mystery fiction. That journey began with The Tequila Promise, followed by Secrets of the Innocent and The Niners.
